Aptos Labs and Google Cloud Launches ‘GameStack’

Aptos Labs, in collaboration with Google Cloud, has launched GameStack, a new platform aimed at simplifying the integration of blockchain technology in video games.

This collaboration builds on the existing relationship between the two companies, with Google Cloud already serving as a node validator for the Aptos blockchain.

GameStack provides developers with tools to incorporate features like NFTs, digital wallets, and decentralized marketplaces into their games. The platform was first introduced in March 2024 and has now officially launched, with the aim of addressing challenges faced by developers working with web3 technology.

What is GameStack?

GameStack is a platform designed for game developers to integrate blockchain-based features into their games.

It offers a range of tools, including a Unity SDK, digital wallet integration, and support for NFT marketplaces. These tools are intended to simplify the process of adding decentralized elements to games, making it easier for developers to manage digital assets and ownership within their projects.

Google Cloud’s data analytics and AI capabilities are also incorporated to ensure scalable and efficient game development.

Several games are already being developed on the Aptos blockchain using GameStack such as SuperVillain Idle RPG and Aptos Arena. Additionally, Indian-based esports platform STAN is preparing to launch its gaming and influencer platform on Aptos.
